Sintra Palaces
Sintra palaces are privately held, they do not belong to the government and, therefore, there are rules when it comes to photographing inside their premises.
-
Not all palaces allow professional photography within their premises.
All Monuments present here allow professional photography in their properties (examples like Pena Palace, Moorish Castle and Monserrate are included among others).
Biester Palace might allow it too, under a special authorization.
Quinta da Regaleira used to allow it but currently does not so it is not a possibility.
-
There’s an authorization fee of 150 EUR* as of 2025. You can read more about this here.
This fee already includes entrance in the monuments.
Even with authorization, there is not possible to photograph inside the Palaces, only in their gardens.
Regardless of that last point, you can visit the Palace by yourself during our photo experience (or after/before).
All these fees and costs are already included in any package that specifically includes an experience at Sintra Palaces.
*For Biester Palace this fee might be different. Under quotation.
-
Quinta da Regaleira no longer allows professional photography within their premises as of 2025.
They used to, before the pandemic, but their management has changed since then and, as of right now, it is not an option.
Please be mindful if other photographers promise you it is possible. Always request proof of authorization to make sure you will not end up expelled from Quinta da Regaleira nor your photos deleted.
